🕕 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
London, UK
Gabriel Fine Arts, in collaboration with Dora Bertolutti Howard, warmly invites guests to Light & Legacy: An Evening in Kensington - a private, one-night-only celebration of two of the most significant figures in 20th-century British and Irish art: Sir William Orpen and Ken Howard OBE RA.
Set within the atmospheric studio they both called home — this special evening revives a space of extraordinary creativity and legacy, opening its doors to artists, collectors, curators, and friends of the arts.
A Studio Through Time
Sir William Orpen (1878–1931), renowned for his portraiture and role as an official WWI war artist, brought psychological nuance and technical mastery to Edwardian and post-war Britain.
Ken Howard RA (1932–2022), known for his luminous treatment of light and realist depictions of London and Venice, continued that tradition in the very same studio decades later — bridging eras through brushwork, discipline, and devotion to craft.
This event marks the first public celebration of their shared studio as a space of living cultural memory.
