Ruspoli's work is distinct, strong, and bold, with a clear message; he is an artist with his own voice who explores the status of our contemporary society, particularly its impact on human connections.
Born in 1958 in Paris to a British mother with a French background and a Belgian father with an Italian background, Ruspoli has presented his work in international art fairs and international galleries, increasing worldwide exposure. He has been the recipient of several important international awards and medals such as to mention a few: Eugene Fromentin Award and Gold Medal in France, Masters Award and Honorable Award in the USA, Gold Medal in China, Honorary Award of Distinction and Honorable Award in the UK, Silver Medal in Italy.
“I am fascinated by the entire spectrum of human interaction; this includes the viewer, the painting and me. I am also intrigued by the way contemporary society is evolving and is reflecting on social environments, familial cells and social classes. The emphasis is on relating rather than individualism, so the characters do not have faces. The sensibility of each individual is created and expressed by the position of the human shape connected with others. This way, the viewer brings their life experience onto the painting in a unique and special way.” Says the artist about his work.
